To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Glasgow start of the Monte Carlo Rally , the Caledonian Classic & Historic Motorsport Club ( www.caledonianmsc.freeuk.com ) is holding a re-enactment on Friday 23rd January , leaving the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum at 7 p.m. , then travelling via Blythswood Square ( the 1949 starting point ) to Luss for supper and a viewing of some period motoring film . The cost to enter is £ 5.00 , which covers a Monte Carlo Rally style plate and Rally pack . It is hoped that a large number of 50's , 60's & 70's Classic cars will take part . The entrants are encouraged to wear period costume if possible , with a prize for the best outfit .
