I went a run last night with The Convertible Car Club A Scottish club for old and new convertible cars
Last night 5 cars went on a night run 4 MX5’s and me So the Triumph had to keep up with the wee nimble moderns
And show them who is boss … ;D As I arrived later on I drove in to the car park and parked up next to some moderns … We drove from the red deer towards Kirkintilloch then up the Campsie Hills
And stopped at the car park at the top
I don’t now why we stopped...
I don’t know you moderns ...
All fixed On we go to the B818 to the Carron Valley Reservoir and stopped at the car park
That in my day was used for the Lombard Rac Rally
At the car park we got to know each other better and take some photos Some one shouts out what about a shot with the cars with the lights up
MMMmmmmm what wire is it … Thats better... From there we headed back along the road to Fintry then up the B822 to KippenA final run to Stirling and back on to the Red Deer to say good bye
I drove home and did this with the roof down the full night

Yes Alan it indeed stands out …
It was a good night and interesting run seeing how the old and the new compare
The TR7 kept up well with the light and nimble MX5’s
But I feel when we went on the long strait road heading to Stirling
I felt I had to hold the Triumph back (or it may have been me I had to hold back ... )
After the fast a twisty back roads …
But the Triumph did me well.. ;D
