Drive it day,is part of the federation of British historic Vehicle clubs ( FBHVC ) campaign to raise the profile of our hobby and show policy makers that the classic car movement is a force to be reckoned with. The FBHVC exists to preserve the freedom of the road for historic vehicles. Indirect threats to that freedom are everywhere, especially from the ever-growing tide of legislation designed to protect the environment

After reading about this event in a classic mag,I decided to get the club i was a member of to do it ( TEC ) as i did the forum and gallery for this club , i thought this would be easy, all i need to do is plaster the event everywhere, and phone a few members up. In Ireland ,Dennis bell was ever so keen, and got a few cars out. In England ,Peter Hunter, got a run going, and posted some photos. All i could get in Scotland, as there was not to meny TEC members up here ,was 3 and a member of the Ayrshire Classics. We had 4, a blink o the eye and we would be past and not noticed. I rememberd a club not to far from me, i looked it up in a classic mag and phoned there Chairman,George Johnston ( Stirling & Dist Classic car club ) and he was ever so keen for his club to join us. So we met up at Luss, Loch Lomond, with a good turnout of cars, then headed up to Crianlarich, then on to Loch Lubnaig.
